Randall Peltzer (Hoyt Axton) is searching for a Christmas gift for his son in Chinatown. The observant Mr Wong notices Randall taking an interest in Gizmo and firmly tells him the creature is not for sale. But his mischievous grandson sells Gizmo without him knowing, and chaos ensues at the Peltzer household.

- The gremlin puppets were so valuable security would check the cars and belongings of everyone on set before they went home.
