- Gary Oldman went through an extensive transformation to become Churchill and spent over 200 hours in makeup.
- Oldman said the role deepened his understanding of Churchill, despite the fact he already read a lot of biographical books.
- The House of Commons granted permission for scenes to be filmed in the chamber. But members of the public are not allowed to sit on the benches, so extras could not sit down at any time.
