Jaws, a bloodthirsty shark is terrorising Amity Island beach. Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) tries to convince the authorities this shark is both dangerous and intelligent. On the 4th of July, an outpouring of people visit Amity’s beach, but little do they know what’s waiting for them, lurking beneath the shallow waters. Can Jaws be caught before more people are hurt?
Interesting facts about Jaws
- The Orca boat actually sank, nearly ruining a day’s worth of footage.
- The film was very different from the book. In the book, Mayor Vaughn was under pressure from the mafia to keep the beaches open.
- The Movie Picture Association of America (MPPA) only rated jaws a PG, despite all the shark attacks and gory scenes.
