Detective Hercule Poirot is on his way home aboard the Simplon-Orient Express train and is approached by Edward Ratchett, who offers him employment. Poirot politely declines and retires to his bunk for the night. The next morning Poirot discovers Ratchett murdered in his cabin. He now has the dubious task of foiling the crime and catching the killer.
Facts about Murder on the Orient Express
- Visual-effects artists created moving landscapes of the train, but this made Josh Gad (Hector MacQueen) feel very travel sick.
- Most of the extras in the film are previous colleagues or close friends of Kenneth Branagh.
- Michelle Pfeiffer showed up to the set several months in advance to build her character’s look.
